A Message from Derek

Thursday, November 8th, 2018

Aloha Friends,

We did it! Words cannot begin to express how thankful I am for your support throughout our entire campaign. I am so honored and excited to serve as your next Mayor.

Now, we must look to the future.

I’m committed to uniting us, as one community, to address the challenges we face head-on.

Together, we can fix our traffic problems. We can build a Kauai where no one gets left behind—with more homes that our residents can afford and more jobs with living wages.  And together, we can create a more sustainable Kauai for the generations to come.

I am humbled by the trust you’ve placed in me to be a good steward of our island home. I pledge to work hard every day to keep that trust, and be a Mayor you can be proud of.

Please know that I am always here to listen and talk story. I encourage you to reach out to me anytime to discuss your hopes and ideas for Kauai.

I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work…for you and with you.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve,
Derek

Mahalo for Voting!

-August 12, 2018-

Dear Friends,

I’m writing to thank you and everyone who participated in this election; my fellow candidates, our families, volunteers and voters! If you stuck a bumper sticker on your car or posted a sign in your yard, whether it was my sign or not – thank you.  You stood up, made your voice heard, and made a difference.  Mahalo for caring so deeply about our community and this beautiful place we call home.

I am thrilled to be moving forward to the General Election, and I know that this success is because of your support. As we head toward November, I will continue to run a positive, honest campaign and focus on my commitment to enhance the quality of life for our families, from keiki to kupuna.

We’ll continue to update you about our campaign plans and activities via email, our website, and on social media. As always, I would love for you to join us!

Have a restful, enjoyable Sunday with your loved ones!

Love and aloha,
Derek
