Mayor Derek Kawakami attended the blessing held for the Hanapēpē Park Improvements Project this morning.

Mayor Kawakami said, “When this facility is completed, it will support many community organizations and give our sports teams a rallying point on and off the field.”

The project will begin in November and is estimated to conclude in August of 2023. It will include a new combined-use building which will contain a ticket booth, prep kitchen, and a concession area. Additional restrooms will also be added.

Mahalo to all of the organizations, and county and state departments who have come together to make this project possible.
